Wanaka Weekly

13 October 2011

All BlacksWell spring is in the air - it must be time to start planning your summer getaway!  Maybe you usually only come to Wanaka for winter - perhaps this year you could see what it has to offer in Summer - walks, fishing, lakeside picnics, wine .....

I have just been down to buy my 'duck' for the annual Rotary Duck Race down Bullock Creek on the 23rd October.  This is part of Willowridge Wanakafest and is not to be missed.  We had such fun last year with the kids, first of all watching the ducks at the start line in the bucket of a loader - being dumped into the creek - and then the mayhem of racing all the way down to the dinosaur park and the finish line!!

Other events during the long weekend include a wine and food festival, fashion show, street parade, polar plunge ..... and the list goes on.  Something for everyone!

Do remember to go in and check out Jup's blog as he continues on his quest to run the length of NZ raising money for the Stroke Foundation - we greatly admire what you are doing Jup and wish you all the best on the final few legs of your journey.

And also remember to go and like us on facebook, and please also let us know if there is anything else you would like to see in our Wanaka Weekly's.

Until next week - enjoy the school holidays and get prepared for a weekend of rugby - GO THE ALL BLACKS!!!!
