Wanaka Weekly

01 September 2011

First day of spring, the daffodils are up, its blue skies and even a fresh bit of snow on the hills - what more could we want!

All the skifields have been busy with several events on over the last week such as the Wanaka Dog Sled Special, the Winter Games, University Games etc. and a few more coming up.  Do check into their websites to keep up with the news.

Congratulations to Adam Hall who has taken out top honours at the 100% Pure NZ Winter Games IPC adaptive slalom - a great effort!

We were delighted to host some of the Tourism New Zealand Team this week.  The iconic view from Treble Cone has been selected to star as part of a new marketing initiative for Tourism NZ and some of the filming and photography have begun.  We can't wait to see what they come up with.

Random Act of Kindness Day today.  Apparently NZ is the only place in the world that does this, but all our international friends - come on, you could join in.  Facebook us and let us know what lovely random act you did for someone, or what you received.  I have just heard of someone paying for coffee for the person behind them in the queue - imagine how that would make your day!

Well I hope you have a super week!  Take care!

Kylie, Mandy, Wayne and the Te Wanaka Team.
