Wanaka Weekly

04 August 2011

Mmmmm lamb shanks followed by sticky date pudding for the guests last night.  The perfect end to the perfect day!  Tonight on the menu is our decadent creamy mushroom soup YUM!

We have had some amazing days weather wise with crisp clear air, blue skies and sun.  Looking at the Met Service we may get a little more of the magic white stuff over the weekend to top up the ski fields!  Bring it on!

Our photo of the week this week is from Hawea Flat looking up towards Treble Cone early on Wednesday morning - stunning!

The last week has seen plenty of hype round town with the World Heli Challenge.  Our little local paper the Wanaka Sun had a great photo on the front this morning of the athletes and crew aboard the minaret barge crossng the lake - they used this to launch the helicopters off for the Extreme Day on Mt Albert!

And Tuesday saw the opening of the Wells Pipe Platter at Cardrona - check out the pics here.

We wish the competitors all the best in this weekends North Face Peak to Peak.

Thats it from us this week.

Kylie, Mandy, Wayne and the Te Wanaka Team.
