Wanaka Weekly

13 July 2011

They say good things come to those who wait, and it seems that this is true!

Mother Nature is certainly making up for a slow start to winter, with a huge dump of snow over the last few days and more on the way!  The skifields are open, but be sure to click on the links below for updated information on snow conditions, road conditions, and also some awesome pics from the last few days!

Town is abuzz with winter fever so not a lot else to report this week.  At the Lodge we are gearing up for our mulled wine nights, lamb shanks, sticky date pudding and wine and canapes.  We enjoy making your stay at the Lodge as fun and comfortable as possible, and love hearing all the stories of your day up the mountain.

Until next week - stay warm.

Kylie, Mandy, Wayne and the Te Wanaka Team.

P.S. Not everyone loves the snow and there were some very cold animals out in it this week.  Several famers I know were out snow raking - tramping tracks through the snow so the sheep and cattle could follow them out to feed.  But it did give hubby some good photo oportunities - taken from up above the airport looking down over Wanaka and the lake - thanks hun.
