Wow - another day in paradise! After some really heavy rain yesterday, this morning we woke to a bit of fog - but now it is beautiful blue sky, bright sunshine, and fresh, crisp autumn air! MAGIC!
Town is still very quiet as is usual for this time of year - but everyone is definately in preparation mode for the ski season. Our little local paper is full of news from each of the skifields about new and exciting developments that are in the making and will be ready for opening day. Gyms are advertising get fit programmes to prepare those muscles for what they are going to endure, and the shops are full of last years gear on sale and the new seasons must haves!
And carrying on with the ski talk - entries for the winter games have officially opened and organisers say they have had strong interest. The Winter Games are being held from August 12 to 28 in Wanaka, Queenstown, Naseby, Dunedin and Methven, and will feature skiing, snowboarding, speed skating, figureskating, ice hockey and curling.
Well not alot else happening in our litttle town this week. Some of us are preparing for duck shooting this weekend, but unfortunately it also clashes with Mothers Day - a bit unfair I say - hubby had better make up for it at a later date!!
Have an awesome weekend!!
Kylie, Mandy, Wayne and the Te Wanaka Team.
