Hello again. Well town is relatively quiet this week, but still lots to do and lots coming up this weekend and into next month.
Art in the Park is this Saturday 9th April at Minaret Lodge (Eely Point Road) from 11 until 5pm.

- Live music all day
- Fabulous food, wine and specialized teas
- Special kids section - face painting, Mr Whippy, apple bobbing and all kid's art for sale
This then leads into the Festival of Colour. Be sure to check out their website for more details....
The Sculpture in Central Otago exhibition continues at Rippon Vineyard until May 1st. This is a wonderful opportunity to view some of the very best sculpture by some of New Zealand's very best artists.
Mandy, Wayne and the boys enjoyed a stroll around the Gypsy Fair last weekend. This drew a big crowd and people loved looking through the quaint little caravans and buses many of these people call home for the entire year.
Big news this week was the launch of our new local website - Wanakalive.com. Lots of community info, local news, marketplace noticeboard and more. I think this will become the onestop shop for many people wanting to keep up to date with what is happening in our little community.
Wanaka based Broken Shed Vodka has just won a silver medal at the 2011 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Might have to try a bit of this at some stage I think.
Basecamp Climbing Centre had a hugely successful event last weekend with round 1 of the 2011 Climbing NZ National Cup. Organisers say this type of exposure will definately help put Wanaka and Basecamp on the map for future events.
And congratulations and best of luck to several local sporting people who have been nominated as finalists in the Central Otago Sports Awards. This event is to be held in Wanaka next weekend.
Well that's all for this week. Lets hope the warm, sunny days continue for a little longer.
